**Job Title: Perinatal Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery** **Location:** [Insert Location] **Shift:** Day Shift, 3x12 Hour (07:00 - 19:00) **Start Date:** ASAP **Job Description:** We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Perinatal Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Labor and Delivery team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of nursing experience in a high-risk labor and delivery setting. This role will focus on providing exceptional care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, ensuring the highest standards of maternal and newborn health. **Responsibilities:** - Provide care for patients in labor, high-risk pregnancies, and triage situations. - Monitor fetal heart rates and high-risk pregnancy conditions. - Assist in vaginal deliveries and circulate for C-sections. - Float to postpartum as needed, providing couplet care for mother and newborn. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient needs, including respiratory, social services, and pharmacy. - Maintain patient confidentiality, especially in a high-profile environment. - Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and patient tracking. - Engage in fetal heart monitoring and high-risk pregnancy management. **Requirements:** - Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing. - Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BCLS, NRP, FHM. - Prior charge experience is preferred. - Must have experience in a community hospital setting. - Ability to float between units is necessary. - Valid nursing license in the state of California is required. - Must commit to working every other weekend and three of the five major holidays. **Special Skills:** - Proficient in assisting with vaginal deliveries and circulating for C-sections. - Capable of performing sterile vaginal exams and managing post-anesthesia care. - Experience in taking an active role in delivery and providing postpartum care is a plus. - Comfort working in an operating room during surgical procedures. **Facility Highlights:** - Acute care hospital with a total of 266 staffed beds, located beachside. - Daily census includes approximately 200 deliveries per month. - Emphasis on patient care and privacy due to the population served.
