**Job Description: Medical Surgical RN** We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for the night shift from 19:00 to 07:00. This position is in a 250-bed academic community hospital that has been serving the region for over 120 years. As the region's only designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center, we pride ourselves on providing comprehensive surgical services, 24-hour emergency department services, and specialized care for a variety of medical conditions. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality patient care for a diverse patient population, serving all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. - Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans as required. - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and educate patients about their care. - Ensure a safe and clean working environment while adhering to all health and safety regulations. - Participate in training and development activities to enhance nursing skills and knowledge. - Be available for on-call requirements and participate in weekends as needed. **Position Requirements:** - Valid RN license to practice in Virginia. - Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Health and Wellness Coach (HWC; available on-site). - Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical-surgical setting preferred. - Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with diverse populations. - Must be willing to undergo random drug screening and complete a criminal questionnaire/consent form prior to employment. - Experience with Meditech EHR is a plus. **Unit Profile:** - Total Beds: 24 - Patient Ratios: 1:6 - Reports to: Acute Care Nursing Operations Director **Dress Code:** - Scrub color: Any (No casual wear allowed) **Why Join Us?** We are committed to making our communities healthier, providing an environment where healthcare professionals want to work and excel.
