Job Description

**Job Title: Medical Technologist / Clinical Laboratory Scientist** **Shift:** Day or night shift availability required, including on-call shifts. **Position Summary:** We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our hospital-based laboratory team. This position operates under minimal supervision, utilizing advanced technical skills and seasoned judgment to independently provide a wide range of sample test analyses and laboratory services. The successful candidate will perform various levels of testing, including CLIA-defined high complexity testing, while ensuring exceptional quality of patient care 24/7. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct high complexity testing and laboratory services in accordance with established protocols. - Evaluate, interpret, and ensure the accuracy of test results; troubleshoot inconsistencies with patient results in collaboration with laboratory personnel. - Provide specialized expertise in microbiology, transfusion medicine, molecular biology, and infectious disease safety. - Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure the functionality of instruments, adhering to quality control standards. - Develop and review laboratory procedures according to CLSI format, ensuring compliance with CAP standards and CLIA regulations. - Train new laboratory personnel and provide ongoing education for existing staff. - Assist the laboratory manager in evaluating competency, implementing process improvements, and maintaining inventory levels. **Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field. - One year of progressive clinical experience or a hospital internship after degree completion. - Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (AMT), or an equivalent credential determined by a national certification agency. - Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory testing processes, LIS operation, laboratory equipment, quality control standards, and regulatory requirements (CLIA, Joint Commission, CAP). - Strong skills in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. **Preferred Skills:** - Ability to work independently, assess laboratory results with accuracy, and maintain high-quality standards in testing. - Capability to establish and maintain cooperative workplace relationships and effectively train staff members. **Additional Information:** This position requires flexibility in working hours, including shifts during the day, night, and weekends, as well as on-call responsibilities. --- At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
