**Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)** **Shift: Night (12-hour shifts: 7 PM - 7 AM)** **Contract Length: 8 weeks** **Location: Must reside within a 60-mile radius** **Job Summary:** We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and challenging environment. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of nursing principles, demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, and provide exceptional care to patients during labor and delivery. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform vaginal exams and monitor maternal and fetal health. - Assist in circulating during cesarean sections and support recovery with spinal anesthesia patients. - Assess patients' clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs. - Identify and intervene in life-threatening situations. - Maintain safety protocols for patient handling, including the use of lifts. - Work effectively in a high-pressure environment and manage multiple priorities. - Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care. - Provide education and support to patients and their families throughout the labor and delivery process. **Qualifications:** - Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license. - Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required. - Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. - Experience in labor and delivery nursing, including the ability to perform necessary clinical assessments. - Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate effectively. - Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to function well in stressful situations and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills. **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Join Our Team:** As an L&D RN, you will play a critical role in the lives of patients and families, providing care during one of the most significant moments in their lives.
