**Job Title: Medical Telemetry RN** **Position Type:** Full-Time, Night Shift **Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM **Location:** Portland, ME **Contract Length:** 91 Weeks **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 Hours/Week **Position Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Telemetry RN to join our high-acuity medical-surgical unit. The ideal candidate will possess at least one year of travel experience, with a strong background in inpatient acute medical and surgical care, including telemetry. This is a fantastic opportunity for nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments and are motivated to provide exemplary patient care. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical telemetry unit. - Monitor patients' vital signs and telemetry readings, responding promptly to changes in condition. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes. - Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and utilize advanced medical equipment as necessary. - Educate patients and their families on health management and post-discharge care. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). **Unit Information:** - **Number of Beds:** 24 - **Patient Ratios:** Goal 1:4 during day shift; 1:5 at night shift. - **Equipment Used:** PLUM, Stryker, EMR: EPIC - **Patient Population:** Medical-Surgical, including telemetry patients. **Qualifications:** - Required: Minimum of 1 year of travel experience in an acute care setting. - Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. - Preferred: Experience with PCA, epidural management, wound vacs, and IV pumps. - Strong interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a focus on teamwork. - Flexible and adaptable to changing unit needs. **Dress Code:** Scrub attire in line with facility appearance policy. **Additional Information:** - Willingness to float to other units based on hospital needs. - Ability to work weekends as necessary.
