**Job Title: Acute Care Sonographer II (Nights)** **Position Summary:** The Acute Care Sonographer II provides critical healthcare services through ultrasound (US) imaging to assist in diagnosis and treatment. This role involves performing ultrasound procedures and related techniques, producing images as per the request of licensed practitioners. The position primarily operates independently within a complex, acute care inpatient setting. **Minimum Qualifications:** - Required: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in at least one category (OB/Gyn or Abdomen/Small Parts). - Required: ARDMS advanced category certification (Fetal Echocardiography, Breast, Pediatrics, or Registered Vascular Technology, Musculoskeletal) or ten years of experience in advanced practice with a commitment to obtain advanced registry within one year of hire. - Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire. - Preferred: Five or more years of post-graduation experience in advanced US practice reflecting registration status. **Essential Job Functions:** - Perform ultrasound exams and procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings. - Assist physicians and medical staff during ultrasound exams and procedures. - Document all necessary information for the accurate interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams. - Complete ancillary duties to maintain the distribution, billing, and archiving of exams. - Retrieve and review previous studies, reports, and related health information to ensure timely performance and reporting of ultrasound exams. - Participate in implementing, monitoring, and improving the organization's quality indicators. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** - Display sound judgment, patience, and professionalism at all times. - Exercise tact, discretion, and maintain confidentiality. - Perform essential functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment. - Adapt to current and new computer applications and office equipment. - Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. - Analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines. **Schedule Requirements:** - Regular and sustained attendance is essential. - This position may require working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. - On-call work may be required to respond promptly to various needs. **Physical Requirements:** - Lifting: Occasionally lift and move objects or people up to 50 pounds. - Sitting: Maintain a sitting posture for extended periods. - Standing and Walking: Frequent standing and walking with good balance and coordination. - Climbing: Rarely ascend or descend ladders or stairs. - Twisting/Bending/Stooping/Kneeling: Engage in motions requiring flexibility and full range of motion. - Reach Above Shoulder Level: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects as necessary above shoulder level. - Fine-Finger Movements and Vision: Continuous use of fingers for tasks and close visual acuity. - Cognitive Skills: Ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, and maintain focus. **Exposures:** - Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, infectious diseases, and emotionally challenging situations. --- At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
