**Job Title: Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift** **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights (7 PM - 7 AM) **Contract Length:** 91 Weeks **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Location:** Rural Area **Job Description:** We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team on the night shift. This position involves providing compassionate nursing care to patients in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, handle lower acuity patients effectively, and be willing to float between the Acute Care unit and the Emergency Room (ER) as needed. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality patient care in an acute care setting with a focus on lower acuity patients, including those requiring wound care, rehabilitation, or long-term antibiotics. - Monitor and manage patient health conditions, including titrating drips such as Heparin and Insulin. - Read and interpret telemetry strips as there are no monitor technicians available on the unit. - Collaborate with a small team of RNs and NACs to ensure optimal patient care. - Work alongside Respiratory Therapists during scheduled hours and perform EKGs and breathing treatments as necessary. - Participate in unit-specific orientation for 1-2 shifts with a preceptor. **Unit Information:** - **Number of Beds:** 16 - **Typical Staffing:** 5 RNs (3 RNs dedicated to Acute Care, 2 RNs in the ER) - **Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:** 1:4-6 based on patient acuity - **Support Staff:** 2-3 Nurse Aides/NACs on nights, shared between Acute Care and ER **Requirements:** - Must have a minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience. - Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required. - Ability to float to the ER as needed based on staffing needs. - No first-time travelers considered; the ideal candidate should be comfortable working with minimal resources and independently. **Additional Notes:** - Flexible scheduling is required to meet the unpredictable needs of the unit. - Weekend shifts typically require four shifts per four-week period, and holiday coverage may be required as part of the rotation. - The facility is located in a rural area with limited local housing options; candidates must be prepared to arrange their accommodations. **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
