**Job Title: Cardiac RN (12H Nights)** **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in cardiac care for a 12-hour night shift position. This role requires flexibility as you will be expected to work some weekends and float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Med-Surg as needed based on patient census. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, including post-operative open-heart surgery, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and other critical diagnoses. - Monitor and manage patient care in the unit with an average daily census of over five patients. - Float between PCU and Med-Surg units as required. - Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2, depending on patient acuity. - Participate in weekend coverage, with a requirement of two weekends per month, subject to unit needs. Flexibility is essential. - Adhere to policies and procedures while providing patient education and support. - Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective communication and teamwork. **Qualifications:** - Valid RN license in the state of practice. - Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS required. - Previous experience in cardiac nursing and familiarity with critical care patients preferred. - Pediatric experience is highly desirable; however, it is not mandatory. Candidates without pediatric experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. - Strong assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills suitable for high-acuity patients. **Additional Information:** - Shifts: 12-hour night shifts from 6 PM to 6:30 AM. - Scrub Colors: Navy Blue, Black, or Charcoal Grey. - Nurses cannot self-schedule; shifts are assigned based on unit needs and may not include block scheduling. - One major and one minor holiday presence is required during the contract period. **Location Highlights:** Experience the unique offerings of Kearney, NE, known as the Sandhill Crane Capital of the World.
