**Job Title: Physical Therapist (PT)** **Shift: 8 AM - 5 PM** **Location: Houston, TX** **Contract Length: 91 Weeks** **Position Type: Full-Time** **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist (PT) to join our dynamic rehabilitation team on the 2nd floor of a busy healthcare facility in Houston, TX. With a total of 245 beds, our unit prioritizes high-quality patient care and teamwork. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized therapy programs for patients to improve mobility, manage pain, and enhance overall physical functioning. - Collaborate with other rehabilitation and medical staff, including PTAs and rehab techs, to deliver comprehensive patient care. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress using Meditech EMR. - Ensure safety measures are in place while utilizing equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, and Sara Stedy. - Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient round discussions. **Unit Information:** - **Number of Staff:** Day Shift: 5 PTs, 1 PTA, 2 Rehab Technicians; Night Shift: N/A - **Patient Ratios:** Maximum of 14 patients per therapist **Qualifications:** - Must possess a valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Texas. - Required certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). - Experience in acute care setting is a must; background in trauma ICU is preferred but not mandatory. **Best Personality Fit:** We are looking for a compassionate, patient-centered individual who possesses strong communication skills and is committed to providing outstanding care to patients. **Floating Areas**: Possible floating to Medical, Surgical, IMU, and ICU units. **Additional Requirements:** - Availability to work one weekend a month as part of the schedule. - Adherence to dress code: Navy blue scrubs.
