**Job Description: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery** **Position Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive patient care to mothers and neonates, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practices are maintained throughout the labor and delivery process. This is a night shift position (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with a weekly guaranteed hours of 36. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver quality nursing care to laboring mothers and neonates, in accordance with established protocols. - Monitor the progress of labor and assess fetal heart rates, using intermediate fetal monitoring techniques. - Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients. - Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in electronic health records. - Provide support and education to patients and families regarding childbirth, postpartum recovery, and neonatal care. - Adhere to hospital policies and procedures and maintain compliance with Joint Commission and AWHONN recommendations. **Qualifications:** - Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in Labor and Delivery and postpartum care (not inclusive of general nursing experience). - Required certifications include Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Intermediate fetal monitoring. - Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make critical decisions quickly. - Commitment to patient safety and quality care. **Unit Profile:** - Type: Labor and Delivery - Level: 1 Trauma Center - Number of Beds: 16 - Patient Ratios: As per AWHONN recommendations - Self-scheduling is available, with weekend hours required on occasion.
