**Job Description: Registered Nurse - CVICU** **Location:** San Antonio, TX **Shift:** Rotating 7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A **Assignment Length:** 13 / 26 Weeks **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team. This role is crucial for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals recovering from complex cardiac procedures and surgeries. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients post-Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) placements, and other cardiac interventions. - Monitor hemodynamic status using advanced equipment, including Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines. - Manage ventilator support and other life-sustaining devices, ensuring optimal outcomes. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. - Document patient care activities accurately in Meditech, adhering to established protocols and procedures. **Requirements:** - Active Texas RN License (No temporary licenses accepted). - A minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required. - ACLS and BLS certification mandatory. - Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage complex medical situations. - Familiarity with IABP and CRRT preferred; exposure to Meditech charting is a plus. - Must be willing to float to other units as required under hospital policy. **Unit Specifics:** - Post-operative care for various cardiac support devices including IABP, Impella, and ECMO. - Adhere to dress code policies with requirements for scrub colors and hygiene standards. **Additional Information:** - Tardiness policy: Clock-in time is 6:38 am/pm; after 6:45 is considered tardy. - Attendance policies enforce strict adherence to scheduled shifts, with necessary time allocated for breaks.
