**Job Description: Critical Care Nurse - CVICU** **Position:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) **Location:** San Antonio, TX **Shift:** Rotating shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM **Assignment Length:** 13 to 26 Weeks **Overview:** We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated RN to join our CVICU team. This position is critical for providing exceptional care to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. As a vital part of our healthcare team, the RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care while adhering to established protocols and best practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Monitor and assess patients' hemodynamic status using tools such as Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines - Manage ventilators and provide respiratory support for critically ill patients - Exhibit strong critical thinking and clinical judgment in a fast-paced environment - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans - Perform advanced procedures including post-operative care for CABG, VAD, and catheterization patients - Ensure accurate documentation in the Meditech system - Adhere to hospital policies, including adherence to attendance and uniform regulations **Qualifications:** - Active Texas RN License (Temporary licenses not accepted) - Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - NIH Stroke Scale certification - Required skills in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and critical thinking **Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) - Familiarity with Meditech charting and order entry systems **Dress Code:** - RN Scrubs: Navy scrub top and pants, with an optional navy or white scrub jacket - Personal grooming guidelines, including clean and neat appearance, trimmed facial hair, and covered body art **Floating Requirements:** All travelers are required to float based on hospital needs, adhering to hospital floating policies. **General Working Policies:** - Clock in time: 6:38 AM/PM; tardiness after 6:45 is noted - Mandatory 30-minute break during shifts - Badging in and out for each shift is required --- **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
