**Job Title: Progressive Care Unit Nurse** **Shift: Night (1900 to 0700)** **Job Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated Progressive Care Unit Nurse to provide exceptional care to our hemodynamically stable and predictably unstable patients in a medical/surgical unit. This role encompasses not only physical care but also emotional, spiritual, and cultural support tailored to our diverse patient population. Anticipated conditions include pediatric care, pre and post PCI, pacemaker management, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), renal failure, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), sepsis, and various surgical services. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide thorough assessments and skilled interventions with consideration of potential deteriorating conditions. - Operate advanced medical equipment and manage patients with central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, arterial lines, multiple IVs, and those requiring short-term ventilation support. - Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care and achievement of desirable outcomes. - Establish rapport with patients and their families, upholding professional nursing standards. - Independently implement and assess established policies and procedures with minimal supervision. - Function as a clinical leader and assist in precepting new staff members. - Deliver comprehensive care for patients throughout their hospital stay, from admission to discharge, including discharge planning. - Provide direction to nursing staff (RN, LPN, CNA), housekeeping, and dietary staff as necessary. - Actively support the Medical Surgical Nursing Unit during staffing adjustments. **Requirements:** - Current State of Montana RN Licensure. - Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required, or to be obtained within 6 months of hire. - Preferred certifications include Emergency Pediatric Nursing Certification (EPNC) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). - Proficient in the operation of multiple IV pumps and advanced medical equipment including arterial lines, invasive lines, and chest tubes. - Experience with noninvasive and invasive ventilatory support, cardiac telemetry, and EKG interpretation. - Strong nursing principles and procedures; pediatric experience and post-heart catheterization experience are preferred. - Proficient in medication management of common IV medications, including but not limited to Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, and Dopamine. **Position Urgency:** Rapid Response Crisis --- At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
