**Job Title: Progressive Care Nurse** **Shift:** Night (1900 to 0700) **Location:** [Location] **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Progressive Care Nurse to join our team. The Progressive Care Nurse will provide essential care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in a medical/surgical unit. This role involves offering comprehensive physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support tailored to the diverse needs of our patients. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver proficient nursing care to a variety of patient populations, including but not limited to pediatrics, pre and post PCI patients, those requiring pacemakers, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, and various surgical services. - Monitor patients who exhibit relative stability while identifying potential for deteriorating conditions using skilled assessment tools. - Operate advanced medical equipment and care for patients with complex needs such as central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, arterial lines, and short-term ventilation support. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. - Interact effectively with patients and significant others, maintaining high standards of professional nursing. - Assess, implement, and adhere to established policies and procedures with minimal supervision. - Serve as a clinical leader and mentor for new staff, assisting with their onboarding and continuous development. - Provide comprehensive direct care for patients from admission through discharge, including discharge planning. - Coordinate with various support staff, including RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping, and Dietary, for optimal patient care. **Qualifications/Requirements:** - Current State of Montana RN Licensure - Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required (or to be obtained within 6 months of hire). EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred. - Proficiency in using basic office equipment and multiple IV pumps. - Ability to operate advanced medical equipment, including arterial lines, invasive lines, and ventilatory support devices. - Strong foundation in basic cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation. - Familiarity with advanced nursing principles and procedures; pediatric experience preferred. - Experience in post-heart catheterization care preferred. - Competence in managing common IV medications such as Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, and Dopamine.
