**Job Description: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse** **Location:** Nashville, TN **Shift:** 19:00 - 07:00 **Unit Name:** NVICU **Overview:** Join our dedicated team in the Intensive Care Unit, where we provide exceptional care for critically ill patients. As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate and attentive care, supporting both patients and their families during challenging times. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality nursing care for critically ill patients, ensuring safety and comfort. - Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 2:1, with potential for 1:1 or 3:1 based on patient acuity and staffing. - Perform advanced nursing procedures such as insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions. - Utilize advanced medical equipment including ventilators, CRRT, and SLED. - Document patient care using Meditech system accurately and efficiently. **Qualifications:** - Must have an active RN license. - Current certifications in ACLS and BLS are required. - Previous ICU experience is necessary. - Ability to work a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per schedule, with self-scheduling options. **Unit Environment:** - The NVICU has 16 beds with a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care. - Unit secretaries are available during dayshift, and you will have occasional support from nurse externs working as techs. - Collaborate with a skilled team of healthcare professionals focused on providing exceptional patient experiences. **Dress Code:** - Required uniform: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms). **Additional Information:** Our ICU offers a supportive and collaborative work environment with access to new equipment and technology.
