**Job Title: RN - Medical/Surgical Unit** **Shift:** 19:00 - 07:00 **Location:** Nashville, TN **Unit Overview:** Join a dynamic healthcare team within a 25-bed Medical/Surgical unit. Our unit prides itself on teamwork and providing exemplary patient care. We serve a diverse patient population with a variety of medical needs, ensuring a supportive environment for all staff. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver direct patient care, perform basic assessments, and maintain general care protocols for patients with wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, and chest tubes. - Monitor patients requiring dialysis or PCA pumps, with a focus on Heparin drip administration. - Assist with post-operative procedures including amputations, ostomy care, drains, chest tubes, and wound vac management. - Conduct bedside shift reports, safety checks every 1-2 hours, and actively engage in patient listening and responsiveness initiatives. - Collaborate with a youthful and enthusiastic team to enhance patient outcomes, cultivating a culture of accountability and recognition for all staff members. **Qualifications:** - Valid nursing license required. - Certifications: BLS, NIHSS. - Must have COVID vaccine. - Ability to perform basic patient assessments and proficiently manage the aforementioned medical devices and procedures. **Unit Details:** - Patient Ratios: 1:4 / 1:5 - Type of Equipment: Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, Alaris IV Pumps. - Documentation System: Meditech. - Floating Policy: May float over core staff as needed. - Dress Code: Scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue. - Attendance and teamwork are valued and expected in accordance with unit policies. **Commitment:** - Candidates must commit to four weekend shifts over a four-week period. - This position offers guaranteed hours over a contract period of 91 weeks.
