**Job Description: Registered Nurse - 12 Tower Unit** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team in a 36-bed unit that specializes in both COVID-19 patient care and overflow non-ICU services. Our patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1:4 to 1:5, ensuring that our nursing staff can provide high-quality care while maintaining a safe and supportive environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct basic patient assessments and provide general care for patients, including wound care, tracheostomy care, ostomy management, drains, chest tubes, and post-operative procedures such as amputations and oral surgeries. - Monitor vital signs and patient conditions, ensuring timely reporting and documentation through the Meditech system. - Assist with patient needs and interventions related to strokes, seizures, dialysis, and PCA pumps, with a focus on Heparin drip management. - Implement and uphold patient safety initiatives, including bedside shift reports, safety checks every 1-2 hours, and adherence to infection control protocols. - Collaborate with a supportive team of nurses, clinical staff, and leadership to enhance patient outcomes and ensure a seamless introduction to the unit. **Qualifications:** - Current BLS and NIHSS certification required. - Experience in providing patient-centered care with a focus on communication and responsiveness. - Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. - Ability to work four weekend shifts within a four-week block is mandatory. **Work Environment:** - The position is situated in a fast-paced, teamwork-oriented department that values collaboration and positive patient outcomes. The unit also features a lounge for staff and opportunities for professional development through mentorship and training. **Dress Code:** - Professional scrubs in navy, blue, white, black, gray, or ceil blue. **Unit Policies:** - Familiarity with HAI prevention, CVC and Foley monitoring, medication scanning (including controlled substances), and fall prevention protocols is essential. **General Information:** - Contract duration: 91 weeks with guaranteed hours. - One position available.
