**Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (Travel Nurse)** **Job Description:** We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with Labor and Delivery (LD) experience to join our dynamic team for a travel position. This role involves providing exceptional care to patients during their labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. As a Registered Nurse, you will be an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, applying your professional nursing knowledge and skills to ensure the best outcomes for mothers and newborns. **Key Responsibilities:** - Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Labor and Delivery unit. - Monitor and manage patients during active labor and delivery. - Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:1 during active labor and 1:3-4 for postpartum couplets. - Administer medications, including titration of Pitocin, as per protocol. - Collaborate effectively with medical staff, ancillary departments, and family members. - Float to Medical Surgical and ICU departments as needed to support patient care. - Document patient care accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system (EPIC). **Qualifications:** - Minimum of 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience, including hands-on delivery room experience. - Current certifications in BLS (AHA or ARC), AWHONN, and NRP. - A valid Iowa nursing license. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to work night shifts, including every third weekend and holiday rotation. **Why Join Us:** This travel position offers a unique opportunity to expand your nursing skills while exploring new locations and experiencing diverse healthcare environments.
