**Job Description: Registered Nurse - Perioperative Services** Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse specializing in perioperative services. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care from pre-admission through post-operative recovery. We are looking for compassionate and skilled nursing professionals with strong communication abilities and a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction. **Shift Details:** - AM Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM - 3 to 4 weekends per month - 1 to 2 holidays **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Assessment Skills**: Utilize comprehensive and systematic assessment techniques to evaluate patients across all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric. 2. **Clinical Skills**: Deliver direct patient care consistent with the established standards of the unit. Demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures to ensure patient safety. 3. **Documentation**: Maintain accurate documentation in patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, and patient education to track progress and outcomes. 4. **Professionalism**: Uphold professional standards by adhering to policies and procedures. Identify areas for personal and professional growth and improvement. 5. **Patient Satisfaction**: Engage with patients and their families in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring a supportive environment that promotes effective communication and collaboration. 6. **Safety Protocols**: Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including the Universal Protocol. Implement safe transfer techniques and utilize proper body mechanics for patient care. 7. **Unit-Specific Functions**: Apply knowledge of surgical conditions, procedures, and equipment while customizing patient care based on specific surgical needs and anesthesia considerations. 8. **Responsibility and Accountability**: Actively participate in the perioperative team, prioritizing patient care responsibilities according to individual patient needs and evolving conditions. 9. **Patient Education**: Evaluate patients’ understanding of surgical procedures and instructions, providing education to both patients and their families. 10. **Pre-Admission Testing (PAT)**: Support timely completion of patient testing and ensure correctness and appropriateness of PAT orders based on patient health and proposed surgery. **Qualifications**: - Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical setting - Current RN License - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required - Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred **Physical Requirements**: As defined by Occupational Safety standards. **Why Choose ARMStaffing?** At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
