**Job Description: Surgical Technologist** **Shift:** M-Th, 10-hour shifts, On-Call Bonus available (Minimum 10 days call/month) **Job Overview:** We are currently seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our healthcare team. The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for preparing and managing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures. This role is critical in ensuring a seamless surgical experience for patients and a productive surgical environment for the surgical team. **Key Responsibilities:** - Handle and process all surgical instrumentation and supplies, maintaining a sterilization log as required. - Prepare and organize case carts with necessary supplies for surgical procedures. - Set up and tear down the operating room (OR), ensuring adherence to sterile techniques. - Collaborate closely with surgeons and healthcare professionals during surgeries to facilitate optimal patient outcomes. - Monitor and manage the inventory of surgical supplies, identifying needs for replacement and checking for outdates. - Participate in the Time Out Process for patient safety. - Assist with gastrointestinal (GI) procedures when necessary. - Update and utilize surgical preference cards effectively. - Conduct accurate counts of sponges and instruments in accordance with policies and procedures. - Label all medications on the sterile field, including syringes and receptacles. - Exemplify exemplary customer service and maintain a positive work environment. - Participate in committees and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. - Perform duties in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations as well as institutional policies. - Manage supplies for at least one surgical service line. - Fulfill the functions of a Sterile Processing Technician as needed. - Undertake other responsibilities as assigned. **Position Requirements:** - High School diploma or equivalent. - Completion of an Operating Room Technician or Surgical Technologist Certification Program. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Surgical Technologist role. - High level of proficiency in at least three surgical service lines. **Bonus Structure:** - An on-call bonus system is in place for peri-operative staff who exceed the monthly on-call shift requirements, providing additional compensation for weekdays and weekends. **Qualifications:** - Current Colorado license or multistate license (verification required). - Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). - Current immunization records and TB test results. - Successful completion of a ten-panel drug screening within the last 30 days. - A comprehensive resume detailing relevant work experience. - Documented professional references. - Proof of required OSHA training. - Assessment of skills and competencies. - Results of a criminal background check and CAPS check (within the last 30 days). --- **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
