**Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Unit** **Shift:** Nights (7 PM - 7 AM) **Location:** Martinsville, VA **Weekly Guaranteed Hours:** 36 **Weekend Hours:** Every Other/As Needed **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical/Surgical Unit. The RN will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population across all age groups. The Medical/Surgical Unit is equipped with 41 beds and utilizes Meditech as the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide direct patient care to individuals across various medical and surgical diagnoses, including postoperative orthopedic procedures and total joints. - Ensure patient safety and quality of care through critical thinking and decisive judgment. - Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans. - Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting significant changes and taking appropriate actions. - Flexibility to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays, to maintain continuity of care. - Participate in staff meetings and continuous education opportunities to enhance nursing practice. **Requirements:** - Current Registered Nurse licensure in Virginia. - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications are required. - Handle with Care and NIH Stroke Scale certifications are preferred. - Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical setting is preferred. - Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced and stressful environment. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. **Patient Ratios:** 1 RN to 4 patients **Direct Supervisor:** Director of Acute Care Services **Why Join Us:** - The opportunity to work in a supportive environment with advanced medical facilities. - Engage in meaningful work that aligns with our mission to enhance community health. --- At ARMStaffing, we take care of our nurses!
