**Job Title: Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)** **Shift:** Nights: 7 PM – 7 AM **Location:** Martinsville, VA **Weekly Guaranteed Hours:** 36 **Weekend Hours:** Every Other/As Needed **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join a state-of-the-art healthcare facility's medical surgical unit. This is an excellent opportunity for RNs looking to make a difference in a fast-paced, high-quality environment where patient care is the top priority. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across a variety of age groups, including individuals requiring post-operative orthopedic care and total joint procedures. - Monitor patient progress and administer medications and treatments as prescribed. - Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes. - Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in stressful situations. - Flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, to maintain coverage and continuity of care. **Qualifications:** - Must hold a valid RN license in Virginia. - Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, Handle with Care, and NIH Stroke Scale. - A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical/surgical setting is preferred. - Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to changing patient needs. **Unit Information:** - Number of Beds: 41 - Patient Ratios: 1:4 - EHR: Meditech - Supervisor: Director of Acute Care Services **Common Diagnoses/Treatments:** - Post-operative orthopedic procedures, total joint replacements, and other surgical interventions. **Dress Code:** Scrub color is flexible; however, casual wear is not acceptable. --- **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
