**Job Description: Trauma and Surgical Nurse** **Position Overview:** We are seeking a qualified Trauma and Surgical Nurse to join our dynamic team in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic nursing due to the hospital's trauma status. This position requires flexible scheduling, including weekends, and the ability to float between like units as needed. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the surgical and trauma units. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. - Monitor and assess patient conditions, progress, and outcomes. - Assist in various surgical procedures including trauma, ortho, vascular, and neuro cases. - Respond effectively to emergency situations and code situations as required. - Administer medications and treatments accurately. - Participate in on-call rotations and cover night shifts as necessary. - Document all patient care activities and maintain accurate records using Epic charting system. **Shift Information:** - Schedule: Variable with shifts on Saturday (0700 - 1900), Sunday (0700 - 1900), and Monday (1500 - 1930). - Call: Required, distributed equally among staff, with potential for 6-8 shifts in a 6-week period. - Weekend coverage is mandatory. **Qualifications:** - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a trauma, neuro, vascular, or orthopedic setting. - Active BLS certification. - Experience with Epic charting is required. - Previous charge experience preferred. - Must be willing and able to float to other units within the hospital and neighboring facilities. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. **Patient Care Skills Required:** - Proficient in a variety of surgical procedures including but not limited to: Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion, Amputations, Carotid Endarterectomy, Craniotomy, Colon resection, Cystoscopy, Total joint replacement, Trauma response, and more. **Facility Highlights:** - Type: Acute Care Hospital with 277 staffed beds. - Environment: Fast-paced surgical setting with a daily census of approximately 25 cases. - Support Services: Access to Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams to enhance patient care. **Additional Requirements:** - Candidates must be flexible with RTO (Request Time Off) and must submit their time-off requests at the time of application. - Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year). --- **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
