**Job Title: Labor and Delivery RN - Night Shift** **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a night shift position. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to obstetrical patients, assisting with high-risk deliveries, and ensuring a positive experience for both mothers and newborns in a fast-paced environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide nursing care to patients during labor and delivery, including assisting with vaginal births and cesarean sections. - Maintain effective communication with healthcare teams and support staff. - Monitor fetal heart rates and assess the well-being of both mother and baby using External Fetal Monitoring. - Administer medications, including anticoagulants and insulin drips, as required. - Conduct sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients. - Manage central lines (CVC/PICC) and practice isolation precautions and PPE protocols. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams, including respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy as needed. - Participate in patient education regarding antepartum and postpartum care. **Qualifications:** - Valid NM or Compact RN license. - Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, specifically in Labor and Delivery. - Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP. - Previous charge experience preferred. - Familiarity with Community Hospital charting system. - Ability to work 36 or 48 hours per week, including 4-6 weekend shifts every six weeks. **Work Environment:** - Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). - Capacity to float to similar units based on facility needs. - Daily patient ratio of 2:1. **Preferred Skills:** - Experience in high-risk deliveries and managing C-sections. - Proficiency in maintaining EFM and recovering C-section patients. - Strong assessment skills and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
