**Job Description: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift** We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a night shift schedule. As a crucial part of our Maternal and Child Health team, you will provide exceptional care to mothers and their newborns during labor and delivery. This position allows for a flexible commitment of either 36 or 48 hours per week, making it perfect for those looking to balance work and life. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide comprehensive nursing care for obstetrical patients throughout the labor and delivery process. - Assist with high-risk deliveries and routine vaginal deliveries, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for mothers and newborns. - Monitor patients’ vital signs and fetal heart tones, recognizing any signs of distress or complications. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and support staff, to facilitate optimal patient outcomes. - Maintain thorough charting and patient records using the community hospital charting system. - Participate in the education and support of new parents, providing guidance on postpartum care. **Requirements:** - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or a compact state. - Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience with a focus on Labor & Delivery. - Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP. - Charge experience is preferred, with familiarity in managing a patient ratio of 2 on nights and weekends. - Ability to float to similar units as needed based on facility requirements. **Patient Care Environment:** - Daily census includes neonates and adults. - Facility conducts 100-200 births per month. - Supportive interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. **Schedule:** - Night shifts: 19:00 - 07:30 - Weekend requirements: 4-6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks.
