**Job Title: Observation Unit Registered Nurse (RN)** **Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM **Location:** Hermitage, TN 37076 **Unit Name:** Observation Unit **Number of Beds:** 25 **Patient Ratios:** 4:1 days / 5:1 nights **General Summary:** We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Observation Unit. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, providing exceptional care to patients requiring thorough assessment and monitoring. **Key Responsibilities:** - Triaging acute care patients and identifying life-threatening rhythms. - Administering medications and treatments as prescribed. - Performing a variety of nursing procedures such as glucose monitoring, Foley insertion, dressing changes, EKGs, and peritoneal dialysis. - Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care. - Maintaining accurate patient documentation in the Meditech system. **Qualifications:** - Current RN licensure in the state of Tennessee. - Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a neuro and cardiac environment preferred. - Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and EKG rhythm certification. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. **Unit Staffing Description:** - 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) - 6-7 Registered Nurses (RNs) - 2 Technicians (Techs) - 1 Unit Secretary (US) **Equipment Used:** - Alaris Pumps - Tele-tracking - iMobile Communication - B450 Monitors - Pyxis **Floating Policy:** Float on a rotating basis to meet the needs of the hospital. **Work Scheduling:** - Full time: 36 hours per week & every 3rd weekend. - Part time: 24 hours per week & every 3rd weekend. - PRN: 3 shifts per month with one weekend shift. - Travelers/Contract: 36 hours & every other weekend. **Dress Code:** - Black scrubs for RNs, Royal Blue for Techs, and Grey for US. - Closed-toed shoes (no crocs). **Why Choose This Position?** Join our newly built Observation Unit that is equipped with the latest technology and equipment.
