**Job Title: Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - 12H Night Shift** **Job Description:** We are seeking an experienced Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-hour night shift position. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have travel experience and the ability to read telemetry strips, as well as orthopedic experience. **Responsibilities:** - Deliver compassionate and patient-centered care to a diverse population in a medical-surgical unit. - Monitor and interpret telemetry strips to assess patients' cardiac status. - Implement and coordinate patient care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. - Assist in orthopedic procedures and provide post-operative care. - Ensure adherence to hygiene and safety standards. - Participate in orientation and training of new staff and students. - Contribute positively to the workplace culture, supporting students and new hires. **Requirements:** - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical nursing specialty. - Active Virginia or Compact License. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and NIH Stroke Scale certifications are preferred. - Must be available for orientation every other Monday. - Must be able to provide availability for every other weekend (E/O weekends) shifts. - All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted upon application. **Key Details:** - Float requirement: No - Guaranteed hours: Contract weeks: 91 - Start dates: 09/22 and 10/16 - Cancellation policy: Client may cancel assignments up to 36 hours before scheduled shifts.
