Job Description
**Job Title: Cat Scan Technologist** **Job Summary:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cat Scan Technologist to perform complex computer tomography (CT) procedures and related techniques. The successful candidate will produce sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assist with interventional and therapeutic procedures while prioritizing patient safety and care. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform advanced CT procedures with professional judgment, ensuring thorough patient history documentation. - Prepare and screen patients by reviewing contrast questionnaires and ensure information is recorded in the electronic medical records (EPIC). - Identify and administer contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. - Communicate with physicians for prescription clarifications, verifying appropriateness of exams and obtaining additional clinical information as needed. - Verify insurance coverage for exams and send modification forms to the Finance department for re-verification. - Request outside studies and schedule them in the PACS system for comparison by radiologists. - Provide exam copies to patients and relevant healthcare providers and address any inquiries they may have. - Evaluate radiographs and uphold a high standard of diagnostic value. - Utilizes effective communication with patients to explain procedures clearly, addressing their concerns and questions appropriately. - Execute venipuncture, IV maintenance, and monitor patients for adverse reactions during procedures. - Be available for scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays, with potential for overtime and on-call assignments. - Lift, push, and pull requisite weights, maintaining physical agility and endurance throughout the shift. - Customize care delivery based on patient needs, ensuring cultural and age-appropriate communication. - Comply with organizational competencies and behavior standards. **Required Skills & Experience:** - Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning of the human body. - Familiarity with CT software and hardware. - Proficient knowledge of PACS systems. - Maintenance of CEU credits and completion of ARRT (CT) certification within twelve months of hire. - Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. **Preferred Skills & Experience:** - A minimum of six months of CT experience is preferred. - Familiarity with Epic or other Health Information Systems (HIS/RIS). **Education Requirements:** - Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program. - High School diploma or equivalent. **Certifications & Licensure:** - NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License. - ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license is required. - American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. **Schedule:** - 13-week assignment with 10-hour shifts: - Monday: 9 PM - 7:30 AM - Tuesday: 9 PM - 7:30 AM - Wednesday: 9 PM - 7:30 AM - Thursday: 9 PM - 7:30 AM --- **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
