Job Description

**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift** **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on the night shift. As a vital member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by assuring that nursing care plans are followed. In this role, you will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans. - Identify and address teaching needs related to each patient's diagnosis in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. - Provide timely updates on patient information and status for Initial Team Conferences and Weekly Re-evaluation Team Conferences. - Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record in accordance with policy. - Participate in the rehabilitation program on assigned units, applying the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care. - Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission, anticipating the discharge date. - Communicate relevant changes in patient status effectively to ensure continuity of care. - Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing problem-solving techniques and effective delegation. - Maintain personal and environmental safety in compliance with established policies and procedures. - Contribute positively to the unit’s functioning by providing calm and reassuring direction to team members, patients, and families. - Report service needs to managers and senior nursing staff for supplies and equipment. - Assume charge nurse responsibilities when requested, after the completion of the orientation period. - Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study. - Prioritize activities for efficient use of time and staff to meet patient needs. - Perform additional duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** - Current RN license and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) prior to the first shift. - Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly preferred. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. **Skills & Competencies:** - Ability to follow established protocols for safe patient handling, infection control, and creating safe work environments. - Commitment to patient and employee safety, emphasizing a proactive approach to workplace hazards. - Proven ability to manage competing priorities while providing high-quality patient care. **Behavior Characteristics:** - Team-oriented with a focus on achieving quality patient outcomes through collaborative efforts. --- At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
