**Job Description: Travel Nurse - Med Surg / CUSTODIAL UNIT** **Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM **Position Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel Nurse to join our team in a Med Surg setting, specifically within a Custodial Unit. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience and a willingness to provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients. As a Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating total nursing care, participating in patient and family education, and leading multidisciplinary teams in maintaining high standards of professional nursing practice. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatric patients in a Custodial Unit environment. - Participate in patient assessments, care planning, and evaluations. - Engage with patients and families to educate them about health conditions and treatment plans. - Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, specifically Epic. - Float between Kingsbury CUSTODIAL patients and Thompson Unit as required, adhering to established nursing ratios (up to 9:1). - Complete all medical and occupational health compliance items within 5 days of offer acceptance. **Qualifications:** - Must hold a valid nursing license in New Hampshire. - ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications are required. - Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience. - Prior experience with EMR systems, particularly Epic, is preferred. - Must possess a personal vehicle for transportation needs. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. **Additional Information:** - This position requires working every other weekend and holidays as needed. - Shift accommodation requests will not be considered for this position. - All travel-related time off requests must be included in the initial profile submission. - Candidates must be prepared to comply with medical/occupational health requirements.
