**Job Description: Night Charge Nurse - Acute Rehab/Med Surg** **Position Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Charge Nurse to join our team in a small community healthcare facility. This position involves a 12-hour night shift with potential floating between Acute Rehabilitation and Acute Medical-Surgical units. The ideal candidate will be a skilled Registered Nurse with a strong background in Med Surg Rehab, capable of providing total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching, and demonstrating effective leadership skills. **Key Responsibilities:** - Coordinate comprehensive nursing care for patients in the Acute Rehab and Med Surg units. - Work collaboratively with nursing and ancillary staff to maintain professional nursing standards in the clinical environment. - Serve as a backup Charge Nurse when required, ensuring smooth operations within the unit. - Participate in the planning and delivery of patient and family education. - Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4/5, ensuring high-quality patient care. - Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management. - Be prepared to accommodate schedule requests, keeping in mind that no block scheduling will be considered. - Handle call-offs responsibly; three call-offs may lead to contract termination due to attendance policies. **Requirements:** - Two years of recent Med Surg Rehab experience is required. - Charge RN experience is mandatory. - Previous travel nursing experience of at least three months preferred. - BSN preferred. - Active ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA). - Must have reliable personal transportation due to the small community setting without public transport. - Profile must include a permanent address and any requested time off noted prior to submission. **Additional Information:** - The average daily census is 22 patients. - All travelers will be required to work two holidays from a specified list. - Orientation will last 8 hours and is not billable.
