Job Description
**Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)** **Shift:** Monday Through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM **Position Summary:** The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) plays a vital role in providing comprehensive physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will work with a caseload of 8-9 patients per day, performing evaluations and follow-up appointments without the expectation of double booking. This position offers a weekday schedule, eliminating the need for weekend shifts. **Position Qualifications:** - Graduate of an APTA approved Physical Therapist Assistant Program. - Licensed by the State of California to provide PTA services. - Experience in acute care, skilled nursing, and out-patient physical therapy is preferred. - Demonstrable proficiency in physical therapy procedures and modalities, as well as the ability to assess their effects on patients. - Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills alongside effective communication capabilities. - Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and uphold a respectful environment. **Position Responsibilities:** **General Competencies:** - Exhibit professional behavior at all times and maintain a positive working relationship with patients, visitors, and staff. - Demonstrate organizational abilities and effective time management skills. - Provide timely deliverables with minimal supervision; proficiently use Microsoft Office applications for data compilation and recommendations. - Maintain an organized documentation system and ensure accessibility of records. - Communicate clearly and respectfully with all personnel in the organization, adhering to the chain of command. - Accurately perform assigned tasks and support diverse departmental responsibilities. - Provide administrative support including patient registration and appointment scheduling. **Specific Competencies:** - Deliver treatment as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist and provide timely feedback regarding treatment effects. - Document treatment outcomes carefully and maintain comprehensive and organized patient records. - Ensure a safe treatment environment and uphold cleanliness standards in the department. - Collaborate professionally with patients and families to include them in their care plan. - Maintain adequate supplies and assist in inventory management. - Adhere to the California State Practice Act and complete any additional duties as directed by management. **Professional Requirements:** - Maintain a current PTA license and BCLS certification without lapses. - Stay updated on Physical Therapy practices through ongoing education and training. - Participate in quality improvement projects as required. - Adhere to organizational dress code and complete annual education requirements. - Report to work punctually and attend all necessary meetings as outlined by management. --- At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
