**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)** **Shift: Day (3x12 hours)** **Location: [City, State]** **Assignment Duration: 48 hours** **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The RN will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality care by adhering to the nursing care plan while supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans. - Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis by collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. - Provide timely patient information and status updates for initial and weekly team conferences. - Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of all patient assessments, interventions, and responses in compliance with policy. - Participate in the rehabilitation program, providing direct patient care while prioritizing education for patients and families based on identified healthcare needs. - Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission. - Communicate changes in patient status to relevant care providers, ensuring continuity and safety of care. - Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing effective problem-solving techniques and delegation. - Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. - Champion a positive and efficient work environment, contributing to team-building efforts within the unit. - Communicate with management regarding service needs such as supplies and equipment. - Assume charge responsibilities as needed post-orientation. - Pursue ongoing professional growth and development through education and self-study. - Prioritize tasks to optimize the use of time and staff, meeting patient needs effectively. - Perform additional duties as requested by leadership. **Qualifications:** - Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. - BLS certification required prior to the first shift. - ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific locations only). - Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience preferred. **Behavioral Characteristics:** - Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care. - Ability to work collaboratively within a team. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Resourceful problem-solving skills and effective decision-making.
