**Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse** **Shift:** 7 AM - 7:30 PM (Must work every weekend) **Position Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor and Delivery Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a supportive and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in labor and delivery nursing, demonstrating the ability to lead and coordinate quality care for patients and their families. This role involves utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care while effectively communicating with the healthcare team. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in the Labor and Delivery unit. - Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop effective nursing care plans. - Implement and evaluate nursing interventions while documenting patient care and education. - Serve as a leader in the coordination of patient care, proactively addressing variances from patient goals. - Communicate pertinent information regarding patients and families to the healthcare team. - Ensure compliance with certifications including NRP, ACLS, and BLS. **Required Skills and Experience:** - Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience. - Proficient in using Cerner for electronic health records management. - Demonstrated clinical knowledge and analytical abilities for effective nursing care. - Strong ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare personnel. **Preferred Skills and Experience:** - Certified in Perinatal Nursing (CPN). **Education Requirements:** - Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. - Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. **Certification & Licensure:** - Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. - BLS certification required.
