Job Description

**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12.0** **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for the night shift, working three 12-hour shifts per week. The RN plays a crucial role in maintaining and delivering quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is adhered to and supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct ongoing systematic assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs through interviews, observations, and physical examinations. - Manage admissions and transfers to the unit; complete initial nursing database within 24 hours. - Interpret assessment data to develop comprehensive nursing care plans, identifying problems, nursing diagnoses, orders, approaches, interventions, goals, and discharge planning. - Assess patient safety and fall risk levels, teaching and counseling patients and families while making appropriate referrals as necessary. - Document patient, family, and significant other teaching, and ensure that medical orders are accurately transcribed and integrated into nursing care. - Administer and evaluate medications as ordered, including intravenous drugs, while adhering to established policies and managing critical drip medications following competency training. - Ensure personal and environmental safety while demonstrating skills in handling emergency situations, including CPR and use of crash cart items. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the medical record, including discharge instructions and interagency transfer forms. - Perform head-to-toe assessments of assigned patients per shift and act promptly on any changes in patient conditions utilizing the SBAR method. - Review lab and test results, notifying physicians of any abnormalities or critical results. - Perform wound care and basic ventilator management as required. - Lead and direct patient care provided by assigned personnel, prioritizing activities for effective use of time and staff. - Communicate nursing care plans through reports, conferences, rounds, and patient care records, including facilitating shift reports and huddles with staff. - Monitor and ensure the completion of delegated tasks by LPNs and aides. - Participate in quality improvement activities and identify learning needs for personal and team development. - Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, participating in continuing education to maintain licensure and skills competency. **Behavioral Characteristics:** - Customer service-oriented attitude towards patients, visitors, and other staff members at all times. - Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. - Commitment to continuous quality improvement and safety standards in healthcare. **Qualifications:** - BLS and ACLS certification required prior to first shift. - Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired. - Current nursing licensure must be maintained. --- **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
