**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Postpartum Intermediate Care** **Shift: Night Shift (19:00-07:00)** **Contract Duration: 13 Weeks** **Location: Postpartum Unit, 2nd Floor** **Overview:** We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Postpartum Intermediate Care unit. This role is ideal for RNs who are dedicated to providing high-quality care for new mothers and their infants in a supportive environment. The Postpartum Intermediate Care unit focuses on patients who are stable but may require additional monitoring due to complications or recovery needs following childbirth. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct comprehensive assessments of mothers and newborns. - Administer medications, including IV antibiotics and blood transfusions. - Utilize bili lights and provide PCA (Patient-Controlled Analgesia) management as needed. - Oversee car seat studies to ensure safety for newborn discharge. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. - Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) using Meditech/CPN. **Unit Information:** - **Number of Beds:** 93 - **Staffing Composition:** 150 staff members, including a mix of Charge RNs, RNs, PCTs, and Nurse Educators. - **Patient Ratios:** Typically 6:1, occasionally up to 8:1. - **Type of Care:** Intermediate Care for postpartum patients. **Qualifications:** - Current RN licensure. - Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications. - Experience in Mother-Baby Care and general Postpartum care is preferred. - Flexibility and adaptability in a busy clinical environment are essential. **Work Environment:** - Attend to patients in a fast-paced, high-volume unit where teamwork and cooperation are crucial. - A commitment to patient safety and high standards of care is expected. **Dress Code:** - Scrubs must be navy blue.
