**Job Title: Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)** **Shift:** 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM **Location:** Portsmouth, NH **Unit Name:** 3rd Medical Building: Shoals **Number of Beds:** 36 **Patient Ratios:** 1:6, occasional 1:7 with surges **Job Description:** We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team in a fast-paced hospital setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, be IV certified, and have a solid background in med-surg nursing. This role requires dedication to providing exceptional patient care as part of a cohesive medical team. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. - Ensure safe and effective monitoring of patients via telemetry. - Administer medications and perform various procedures such as wound care, chest tube management, foley insertion, and central line dressing changes. - Maintain accurate documentation using the Meditech Expanse system. - Collaborate with healthcare team members to implement patient care protocols, including bedside shift reports and hourly safety rounding. - Engage in continuous professional development and skill enhancement related to advanced nursing practices. **Qualifications:** - Current and valid RN license in the state of New Hampshire. - BLS certification required; IV certification is mandatory. - Minimum 1 year of med-surg experience preferred. - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with patients and families. - Flexible availability for three 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and rotating holidays. **Additional Information:** - **Unit Specifics:** Day shift unit secretary and LNA support available. - **Scheduling:** Self-scheduling available; leadership may adjust shifts based on unit needs. - **Dress Code:** Scrubs (any color). - **Floating Policy:** May float to an equivalent level of care.
