Job Description
**Job Title: Respiratory Therapist** **Shift:** Night 3x12.0 **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will provide intensive respiratory care and facilitate patient transport, adhering to the medical protocols outlined within their professional licensing. **Key Responsibilities:** - Evaluate patient conditions and recommend appropriate treatment plans. - Educate patients about the purposes and procedures of respiratory treatments, tests, and equipment. - Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using a range of ventilatory and aerosol equipment to administer medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation to patients. - Perform chest physiotherapy and various suctioning techniques (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal) as necessary. - Monitor patient oximetry and capnography according to established policies. - Review patient chest X-rays to determine the need for further assessments. - Conduct 12-lead EKGs and assist in basic arrhythmia recognition. - Execute pulmonary function studies and assist in respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placements. - Provide tracheostomy care, including the insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes. - Perform arterial punctures and assess efficiency of ventilation through monitoring, recording, and reporting test results. - Adhere to all laboratory testing policies, including specimen handling and quality control measures. - Deliver cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines. - Manage mechanical ventilation on various equipment, including performing set-ups and self-tests. - Maintain accurate respiratory therapy documentation, including patient response to treatments and charge recordings. - Collaborate with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy efficacy and communicate vital information during shift changes. - Participate in equipment maintenance and repairs as necessary. - Fulfill additional duties as required to support optimal patient care. **Behavior Characteristics:** - Detail-oriented and capable of working with minimal supervision. - Strong communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare teams and patients. **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
