Job Description

**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift** **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team for a night shift position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that nursing care plans are followed accurately and effectively. This role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) as well as providing support to orientees. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish an individualized plan of care. - Identify teaching needs and goals based on nursing assessments, collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. - Provide timely patient information and status updates during weekly team conferences, ensuring accurate and succinct documentation of all assessments, interventions, and responses. - Actively participate in the patient rehabilitation program and be accountable for direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to educate patients and families effectively. - Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and begin patient education in anticipation of discharge. - Communicate critical changes in patient status to relevant care providers to ensure continuity of care and patient safety. - Supervise and mentor ancillary nursing personnel while employing problem-solving techniques in decision-making and prioritizing tasks effectively. - Maintain a focus on personnel and environmental safety by adhering to hospital policies and procedures. - Contribute positively to unit operations by providing guidance and support to staff, patients, and families. - Maintain ongoing communication with management regarding service needs, including supply and equipment requests. - Assume charge responsibilities as requested post-orientation, while prioritizing activities to meet patient needs efficiently. - Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study. **Qualifications:** - Current BLS certification required prior to the first shift. - ACLS certification required prior to the first shift. - Minimum of two (2) years of bedside critical care clinical experience.
