**Job Description: Observation Unit Registered Nurse** **Shift:** 19:00 - 07:00 **Location:** Hermitage, TN 37076 **Job Overview:** We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Observation Unit team. This fast-paced unit is dedicated to providing top-notch care for patients in need of closely monitored observation and treatment. With a commitment to patient experience, our team plays a crucial role in triaging acute care patients and identifying life-threatening rhythms. **Unit Specifics:** - **Number of Beds:** 25 - **Patient Ratios:** 4:1 days / 5:1 nights - **Staffing Description:** 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC), 6-7 RNs, 2 technicians, 1 unit secretary - **Equipment:** Alaris Pumps, Tele-tracking, Imobile Communication, B450 Monitors, Pyxis - **Documentation System:** Meditech **Scheduling Requirements:** - Full-time: 36 hours per week with every 3rd weekend - Part-time: 24 hours per week with every 3rd weekend - PRN: Minimum of 3 shifts per month, including one weekend shift - Travelers/Contract: 36 hours per week with every other weekend **Floating Policy:** Nurses may float on a rotating basis to meet the needs of the hospital. **Patient Experience Requirements:** - Expertise in triaging acute care patients - Ability to identify life-threatening cardiac rhythms **Skill Set Requirements:** - **Must Have:** Neuro & Cardiac experience - **Advanced Skills Needed:** - Glucose monitoring - Foley insertion - Dressing changes - EKGs - Peritoneal dialysis **Certifications Required:** - BLS (Basic Life Support) - ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - NIH Stroke Scale Certification - EKG Rhythm Certification **Dress Code:** - RN: Black scrubs - Techs: Royal Blue scrubs - Unit Secretary: Grey scrubs - Closed-toed shoes (no Crocs) **Awards and Recognition:** Join a team that values excellence and dedication!
