Job Description
**Job Title: Registered Nurse - Special Care Nursery (Night Shift)** **Shift:** Night 4x12-Hour (18:00 - 06:30) **Location:** [Location Name] **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Special Care Nursery team during night shifts. This position involves caring for neonates and providing couplet care, while also managing labor patients and circulating during cesarean sections. The ideal candidate should have a passion for neonatal care and experience in a Labor and Delivery setting. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide high-quality nursing care to neonates and their families. - Assist pediatricians with procedures including lumbar punctures, circumcisions, UVC insertions, intubation, and stabilization. - Manage laboring patients and perform triage as necessary. - Offer breastfeeding support and lactation assistance to mothers. - Provide care for neonates requiring IV antibiotics, IV glucose support, and respiratory support. - Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations. - Utilize the Epic documentation system for recording patient care efficiently. **Patient Diagnoses:** - Transitioning to Neonate (TTN) - Hypoglycemia - Rule Out Sepsis - Respiratory Distress - Term Newborns **Unit Details:** - The unit mostly comprises couplet care, where newborns room in with their parents. - The Special Care Nursery operates within an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) model. **Qualifications:** - A valid NM or Compact RN license is required at the time of submission. - Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are mandatory. - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is preferred. - A minimum of 1-year experience in a similar nursing role with some charge experience preferred. - Experience with couplet care and triage in labor and delivery settings is essential. - Familiarity with Epic charting system is required. **Work Environment:** - Daily patient ratios of 3:1 for nurses, both during the day and night shifts. - Opportunity to float to like units as necessary based on facility needs. **Additional Information:** - Scrubs are provided (Purple or Navy Blue). - Flexible scheduling to fit the needs of the unit. - First-time travelers are welcome to apply, and support will be provided for orientation. --- ### At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
