**Job Description: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Night Shift** **Position**: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) **Shift**: Night (4x12 Hour: 19:00 - 07:00) **Location**: New York **Overview**: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at a tertiary care hospital. The ideal candidate will have a New York nursing license in hand and be capable of managing their own patient assignments with the support of an RN. This is a night shift position with a requirement for every other weekend work. **Key Responsibilities**: - Manage and provide care for assigned patients, ensuring their comfort and recovery. - Monitor vital signs and patient status, reporting any changes to the supervising RN or MD. - Perform various nursing procedures, including but not limited to blood glucose monitoring, respiratory care, and wound care. - Administer medications and treatments as ordered, ensuring adherence to protocols. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Epic charting system. - Assist in the training and supervision of junior nursing staff as needed. - Facilitate effective communication among interdisciplinary team members to enhance patient care. **Qualifications**: - Current New York State LPN License required. - Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in a hospital setting. - Experience with Epic electronic charting system is a must. - Proficient in managing a patient ratio of 6:1 during night shifts. - Knowledge and experience in handling medical patients with conditions such as COPD exacerbations, infections, and failure to thrive. - Ability to float to different units as necessary based on staffing needs. **Facility Highlights**: - Type of Facility: Tertiary Care Hospital - Total Staffed Beds: 528 - Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics - Daily Census: Approximately 26 patients **Skills Required**: - Proficient in administration of medications: oral, IV, subcutaneous, and by other routes. - Skilled in basic nursing procedures, including Foley catheter insertion, NG tube management, and wound care. - Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and infection control protocols. - Strong communication skills, with the ability to report patient changes effectively. **Additional Information**: - Shift Requirements: Full-time night shift, including every other weekend. - Orientation and training provided, including 16 hours of orientation. --- At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
