**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical / Ortho Spine** **Shift:** 18:45 - 07:15 **Schedule:** 3x12 Nights (36 hours guaranteed per week) **Location:** Reno, NV **Position Summary:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical / Orthopedic Spine unit. In this fast-paced and dynamic environment, the RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, including adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, with a focus on orthopedic and neurosurgical care. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver optimal patient care by utilizing knowledge and skills within the nursing process. - Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients undergoing orthopedic surgeries, such as joint replacements and spine surgeries. - Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and meet patient needs. - Ensure adherence to established quality standards and provide individualized care tailored to each patient's unique situation. - Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families. - Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with nursing best practices and advancements. **Qualifications:** - Must possess an active RN license in Nevada prior to start. - Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience; orthopedic experience is highly preferred. - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA. **Unit Information:** - The unit features 38 private rooms dedicated to orthopedic and neurosurgical patients. - Patient types include those recovering from total joint replacements, various surgeries, fractures, traumas, and medical overflow situations. **Additional Guidelines:** - Travel nurses may need to float to meet organizational needs based on their competency. - Willingness to work major holidays and pick up additional shifts as required. - Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate department needs, including weekends and potential on-call shifts. **About the Facility:** This medical center serves as a vital healthcare resource, providing a wide range of advanced medical services to a large regional population.
