**Job Title: PCU Registered Nurse** **Shift: 19:00 - 07:00** **Location: Summit Medical Center** **Address: 5655 Frist Boulevard** **Unit: PCU** **Department: 630/633** **Overview:** Join our dedicated team as a PCU Registered Nurse, where you'll provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population in a dynamic environment. Our progressive care unit (PCU) focuses on delivering exceptional patient-centered care while supporting critical thinking and advanced nursing skills. **Unit Specifics:** - **Number of Beds:** Unit 630 has 34 beds; Unit 633 has 25 beds. - **Patient Ratios:** 1:4 to 1:5 on days, 1:5 to 1:6 on nights. - **Staffing:** Three techs for a full 630 unit, two techs for a full 633 unit. - **Equipment:** Bipaps, high flow O2, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, and peritoneal dialysis capabilities. **Responsibilities:** - Perform hourly rounding on days; every two-hour rounding on nights. - Engage with patients and families using AIDET and maintain communication boards on the 7th floor. - Execute advanced nursing procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and central line dressing changes. - Administer medications and manage various infusion therapies, including cardiac and insulin drips. - Provide care for patients recovering from strokes and post-cardiac catheterization. **Required Skills and Qualifications:** - Active BLS and ACLS certifications. - Proven experience in critical thinking and EKG rhythm interpretation. - Proficiency in cardiac drips, insulin drips, heparin drips, and peripheral IV skills. - Strong knowledge and experience with bipaps, high flow oxygen systems, tube feedings, and NG/Dobhoff tubes. - Familiarity with wound vacs and teamwork-oriented nursing practices. **Work Schedule:** - 3 twelve-hour shifts per week. - Must commit to working every other weekend. - Opportunity to self-schedule within a 4-week cycle. **Perks of the Position:** - Opportunity to extend contracts for those who excel in the PCU environment. - A supportive culture that emphasizes treating team members like family and fostering great teamwork. --- **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
