Job Description
**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift** **Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM **Contract Duration:** 91 weeks **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 **Position Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team on the night shift. The ideal candidate will possess 2 years of nursing experience, particularly in the LD (Labor and Delivery) unit, and will contribute to delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic clinical environment. **Key Responsibilities:** **Assessment:** - Compile databases and formulate nursing diagnoses based on comprehensive patient assessments. - Utilize physical assessment and interviewing techniques to gather pertinent health information. - Anticipate the need for intervention by other disciplines and determine patient care priorities. - Reassess patients as indicated by changes in their conditions or responses to treatments. **Planning:** - Initiate and update written nursing plans of care based on scientific and psychosocial principles supporting nursing diagnoses. - Incorporate information from nursing care planning conferences and coordinate care planning with patients, families, significant others, and health team members for effective hospital and post-discharge care. **Implementation:** - Perform clinical nursing skills independently, administering medications, IV therapies, and treatments accurately. - Initiate appropriate emergency procedures and effectively delegate and coordinate ancillary personnel duties. - Maintain clear communication regarding patient status and plans of care through written documentation in medical records. - Promote therapeutic communication with patients, families, and visitors, applying teaching/learning principles for patient education. **Patient Care Coordination:** - Manage daily patient assignments by setting appropriate priorities and delegating responsibilities effectively. - Monitor the nursing care delivered by ancillary personnel, coordinating patient activities with other healthcare disciplines. **Teaching and Quality Improvement:** - Develop, document, and implement patient teaching and discharge planning records. - Participate in ongoing education programs for patients, families, staff, and students, as well as clinical monitoring at the unit level. - Identify unit, staff, and patient care problems, taking action or referring issues to appropriate resources. **Professional Excellence Model:** - Participate in activities of the RN 3, excluding serving as a facilitator for the Nurse Residency Program. - If competent, serve as a charge RN and monitor productivity and patient flow, as well as precept new staff. **Qualifications:** - Current RN license in Maryland. - Completion of ACLS (AHA), AFM, NRP, BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications. - Two years of nursing experience, with a focus on the Labor and Delivery unit preferred. - COVID-19 vaccination status is required (declinations not accepted). **Submission Requirements:** - Completed GBMC cover page - Current resume - Two supervisory references (one from within 6 months and one from the last 12 months) - Skills checklist --- **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
