**Job Description: Respiratory Therapist** **Position Summary:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, you will provide essential life-support services, resuscitation, and monitoring for patients. As a vital part of our healthcare system, you will perform both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in Intensive Care and General Practice Units. Your responsibilities will also include effectively communicating with patients, colleagues, and physicians, ensuring accurate documentation of patient care, and supervising and directing junior staff and externs as assigned. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver life-support, resuscitation, and medical gas therapy to patients. - Perform essential diagnostic procedures for patients in critical care and general practice environments. - Maintain clinical expertise across various departmental assignments as necessary. - Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other staff regarding patient care needs. - Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly. - Supervise and delegate tasks to Respiratory Therapists, students, and externs as required. - Complete necessary patient billing information required for the department. **Qualifications:** - **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist. - **Education:** Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program is required; a Bachelor’s in Respiratory Therapy is preferred. - **Certification & Licensure:** - Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensure and certification. - Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. **Skills:** - Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients and the healthcare team. - Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. **Schedule:** - 3 x 12-hour shifts, rotating every other weekend (Shift: 1845-0715). - 13-week contract position. **Join Our Team!** At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
