**Job Description: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)** **Location:** San Antonio, TX **Shift:** 06:45 AM - 07:15 PM / 06:45 PM - 07:15 AM **Assignment Length:** 13 weeks **Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Our facility is exclusively designed for pediatric care, offering a range of outstanding services including labor and delivery, ensuring high-quality care for our youngest patients. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers and newborns during labor and delivery. - Monitor fetal and maternal well-being, ensuring a safe and positive delivery experience. - Assist in vaginal and cesarean deliveries, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols. - Administer medications, including magnesium sulfate, and participate in post-delivery care. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support family-centered care and address the needs of each patient. - Maintain accurate and thorough documentation utilizing the Meditech system. - Float to antepartum as needed and adapt to varying patient care situations as required by the floating policy. **Qualifications:** - Must possess an active Texas RN License (temporary licenses will not be accepted). - Minimum of 2 years of relevant Labor and Delivery experience is required. - Certifications: BLS, NRPA, ACLS, and AWHONN Fetal Monitor. - Experience in circulating cesarean deliveries is preferred. - Strong focus on patient experience and quality care. **Dress Code:** - Scrubs provided; no artificial nails or nail polish. - Hair must be off shoulders, natural color only. - Body art should be covered whenever possible; visible piercings beyond ears are prohibited. **Work Environment:** - Operate within a family-centered, supportive atmosphere focused on creating positive healing experiences for children and their families. - Participation in mandatory floating to enhance collaborative care between units. **Why Choose Us?** Join a facility recognized as one of the top children's hospitals that prioritize the needs of our community.
