Job Description
**Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery** **Shift:** 19:00 - 07:00 **Assignment Length:** 13 Weeks **Patient Care Setting:** Women’s Hospital, 2nd Floor **Position Overview:** We are seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Labor and Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care for high-risk antepartum, labor, and recovery patients, ensuring the highest standards of maternity care are delivered. **Key Responsibilities:** - Manage and provide care to high-risk labor and delivery patients, adhering to ACOG/AWHONN guidelines with a patient ratio of 1:1 and 1:2. - Perform essential nursing duties including monitoring fetal heart rates, checking cervixes, and assisting during labor. - Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans. - Utilize the Meditech/CPN documentation system for patient record management. - Maintain an understanding of and adherence to established policies and procedures, including relevant compliance standards. **Qualifications:** - Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses are not accepted). - Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN Intermediate. - Minimum of 2+ years of hospital experience in a Labor and Delivery setting. - Ability to care for patients with high-risk antepartum conditions. - Experience in advanced fetal monitoring is a plus (Advanced FM). - Certification in RN-OB is preferred, but not mandatory. - Proficient in performing IVs and placing internal monitors is advantageous. **Work Environment:** - 19-bed high-risk Labor, Delivery, and Recovery unit. - Modified self-scheduling with collaborative shift balance based on staff preferences. - Floating to antepartum and gynecological units may be required. **Dress Code:** - Hospital scrubs will be provided. - Maintain a clean and professional appearance; adhere to policies regarding hair, nails, and body art. **Additional Information:** - Must be available for weekend call requirements. - Participate in continuing education and training programs as necessary. - Embrace a culture of teamwork, respect, and excellence in patient care. --- **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
