Unit Description

This is an inpatient overflow unit with a mixed level of care that caters to medical surgical and/or step-down patients. The unit consists of 20 beds and primarily targets short-stay patients with a length of stay of approximately 24 hours, allowing for quick turnover.

Staffing Details

• Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs
• Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs

Patient Ratios

1:5 to 1:6, stretch dependent on the level of care.

Equipment & Technology

• Telemetry monitoring—patients hardwired to bedside monitors.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Cerner.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Telemetry competency
• Progressive Care experience

Preferred Skills

• Recent progressive care experience

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Additional Details

Travelers will be required to float to other units as needed. Every other weekend is required, and there is no on-call duty. The dress code consists of navy scrubs and/or a white top with navy bottoms.

Guaranteed Hours: Contract Weeks: 91. Position creation reason: Contractor Replacement.
