Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Unit

Shift: 19:00 - 07:00

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Orthopedic Unit in Richmond, VA. If you have a passion for providing exceptional care to post-operative patients and thrive in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you!

Unit Details

• Number of Beds: 25
• Patient Ratios: 5/6+:1
• Staffing: 4-5 Nurses, 1-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Department Secretary on site from 7am to 7pm
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Unit Equipment: General nursing equipment for the care of med-surg patients, specifically related to post-operative hip, knee, spine, and other orthopedic procedures.

Scheduling Requirements

The position requires three 12-hour shifts per week, with every other weekend. Please note that there is no guarantee of block scheduling.

Patient Experience Standards

• Conduct bedside shift reports
• Participate in Safety Rounding (1 hour during the day, 2 hours during the night)
• Utilize AIDET in all interactions
• Treat all patients with utmost courtesy and respect, keeping them informed of their care and fostering personal connections

Qualifications

• Required: BLS certification and experience with post-operative patients
• Preferred: Meditech experience
• Attitude: Positive mindset and team player

Work Environment

This is a purpose-built unit that is just over one year old, equipped with ample resources to meet patient and staff needs. Our team consists of experienced staff, with some having over 20 years of tenure.
